INDIAN OCEAN DISTRIBUTION: Indonesia (Sumatra), Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, South Africa, Sri Lanka.

Note: According to Yendo (1905: 19), Amphiroa cultrata var. globulifera "is the name given to a plant having the conceptacles of Choreonema''. This name, when lectotypified, will then be a synonym either of the host or of the parasite (Choreonema thuretii (Bornet) Schmitz (q.v.)).
