Cruoriella P. Crouan & H. Crouan

Cruoriella armorica P. Crouan & H. Crouan

Cruoriella armorica P. Crouan & H. Crouan, 1859b: 289, pl. 22: fig. G (type locality: near Brest, Finistère, France).

Taxonomic synonym:

Cruoriopsis crucialis Dufour, 1864: 59 (type locality: Cornigliano Ligure, Genova, Italy).

Cruoriopsis cruciata Zanardini, 1870: 449, nom. illeg.—Weber-van Bosse, 1913b: 140–141.— Weber-van Bosse, 1914: 304–305.

INDIAN OCEAN DISTRIBUTION: Saya de Malha Bank.

Note: The synonymy was proposed by Denizot (1968: 139–141). Dufour's epithet was intentionally or unintentionally changed to cruciata by Zanardini. Weber-van Bosse (l.c.) stated that the plant from Saya de Malha Bank was conspecific with specimens from Nias Island, Sumatra. However, when she proposed a new species, Cruoriella de-zwaanii, for the latter specimens she did not mention the Saya de Malha Bank record.
