INDIAN OCEAN DISTRIBUTION: Australia.

Note: This species was originally described on the basis of its reproductive nemathecia, which were mistakenly believed to be parasites on Amphiroa australis. The conspecificity of the two entities was proposed by Schmitz (in Schmitz & Hauptfleisch, 1897l: 530). Subsequently, Weber-van Bosse established the genus Litharthron for the vegetative portion.
