Note: De Toni erroneously accredited the binomial Carpopeltis zollingeri to Schmitz (1894b: 196), who, however, merely stated that the alga from the Nicobar Islands reported by Grunow (1867: 82, pl. X: fig. 3) under the name Suhria (?) zollingeri (Sonder) Grunow was representative of Carpopeltis.
