Note: According to Womersley & Conway (1975: 63), Porphyra denticulata is probably not distinct from P. columbina Montagne (1842a: 14; type locality: Auckland Islands), a species not reported from the Indian Ocean. Ormond & Banaimoon cited P. denticulata from Yemen with uncertainty.
