Pseudoscleropodium (Limpricht) Fleischer, 1923.

Pseudoscleropodium, everywhere in the world, behaves as if it were introduced. It has recently become established and abundant in lawns in western Washington State, and now it has spread all the way to northwestern California. It is one of our largest julaceous mosses, and this julaceous pattern is not duplicated in Brachythecium. It is easily distinguished from Scleropodium by the strongly porose and pitted cells of the basal juxtacostal region.
see Keys to Brachythecium, Scleropodium Etc.
