Correspondence 1 indicates that, based on DNA studies, Wendy Zomlefer and Walter Judd (Novon 12:299--308. 2002) have resurrected the genus Toxicoscordion for the species of Zigadenus occurring in CA, so that Toxicoscordion venenosum (S. Watson) Rydb. would be used for this taxon [if this taxonomy is adopted by the Jepson Flora Project author; treated as Zigadenus venenosus S. Watson and Zigadenus venenosus S. Watson var. venenosus in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]].
