Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 17 Jan 2002 e-mail from Richard Moe see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates "simplifolia" in protologue, and that this spelling has been used since (by Jepson and, evidently, Barneby), and that while there are no other occurrences of it in International Plant Names Index, there are many occurrences there of "simplicifolia". [The prefix "simplici-", but not "simpli-", is indicated in Stearn's Botanical Latin (under "simplex", p. 511). Thus, a change in spelling from "simplifolia" to "simplicifolia" is considered here to be a correction of an orthographic error, in accordance with Art. 60.1, ICBN (1994).]
