Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Guy Nesom (The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Author; G.L. Nesom in Authors of Plant Names), in SIDA 21:781--783 (2004), recognized the four subspecies of Pseudognaphalium canescens occurring in California as separate species and published the new combination Pseudognaphalium thermale (E. E. Nelson) G. L. Nesom to accommodate his taxonomy. Thus, Pseudognaphalium canescens subsp. thermale is to be treated as Pseudognaphalium thermale (E. E. Nelson) G. L. Nesom; Pseudognaphalium canescens subsp. beneolens as Pseudognaphalium beneolens (Davidson) Anderb.; Pseudognaphalium canescens subsp. microcephalum as Pseudognaphalium microcephalum (Nutt.) Anderb.; and Pseudognaphalium canescens subsp. canescens as a synonym of Pseudognaphalium canescens.
