Correspondence 1 indicates that Prunus ilicifolia was published by David Dietrich (D. Dietr. in Authors of Plant Names), in Synopsis Plantarum 3:43. 1843 (or late Dec. 1842), earlier than the April 1843 publication by Walpers, and that Dietrich cited the same basionym as Walpers, making the later name an illegitimate isonym. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Prunus ilicifolia (Nutt. ex Hook. & Arn.) D. Dietr., from Prunus ilicifolia (Nutt. ex Hook. & Arn.) Walp. previously in this Index, 28 Jan 2010.]
