Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 14 May 2003 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that UC7442, collected by J. Burtt Davy June 17-24, 1897, in Lassen Co., Honey Lake Valley, 4000', vouchers this species for MP, so that MP is to be added to the range given in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1], expanding SNE to GB.
Correspondence 2 9 Aug 2007 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that Nitrophila occidentalis was published by S. Watson as the type of the genus Nitrophila, published at the same time in United States Geological Expolration [sic] of the Fortieth Parallel. Botany 297 (1871), based on Banalia occidentalis Moq. (Prodromus Systematis Naturalis Regni Vegetabilis 13(2): 279. 1849). [Therefore, author citation corrected to Nitrophila occidentalis (Moq.) S. Watson, from Nitrophila occidentalis (Nutt.) Moq. previously in this Index, 15 Aug 2007.]
