Correspondence 2 indicates that Muhlenbergia asperifolia was published by Parodi (Revista de la Facultad de Agronomia y Veterinaria 6:117. 1928), based on Vilfa asperifolia published by Trinius (Trin. in Authors of Plant Names) in Mémoires de l'Académie Impériale des Sciences de Saint-Pétersbourg. Sixième Série. Sciences Mathématiques, Physiques et Naturelles. Seconde Partie: Sciences Naturelle, Botanique, 4(1-2): 95. 1840, who ascribed the name to "N. et Meyen" but provided his own description. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Muhlenbergia asperifolia (Nees & Meyen ex Trin.) Parodi, from Muhlenbergia asperifolia (Nees & Meyen) Parodi previously in this Index, 30 Aug 2006.]
