Correspondence 1 indicates that Cyperus acuminatus was published by John Torrey in Annals of the Lyceum of Natural History of New-York 3:435 (1836), and that Torrey ascribed the name to "Torr. & Hook." (=Authors of Plant Names), so that the correct citation is Torr. & Hook. according to ICBN 2006 Art. 46.2, which states in part, "...authorship of a new name or combination must always be accepted as ascribed, even when it differs from authorship of the publication, when at least one author is common to both." [Therefore, author citation correct as indicated in this Index, 9 Jan 2008.]
