Correspondence 2 indicates that, according to Gandhi, the author of Carex alpina var. stevenii, basionym for Carex stevenii, is Herman Theodor Holm (1854-1932; Holm in Authors of Plant Names), and not Theodor Holm (1880-1943; T. Holm in Authors of Plant Names), and that Herman Theodor Holm used to cited his name "Theo. Holm", which probably is the source of the confusion in this case. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Carex stevenii (Holm) Kalela, from Carex stevenii (T. Holm) Kalela previously in this Index, 3 Feb 2012.]

Correspondence 3 indicates that just as Herman Theodor Holm (1854-1932; Holm in Authors of Plant Names), and not Theodor Holm (1880-1943; T. Holm in Authors of Plant Names), is the correct author citation Carex stevenii (Holm) Kalela, so too is it the correct author citation for six other epithets in Carex in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] that were published by "Theo Holm" in four articles in American Journal of Science from 1902 to 1904, including the basionym for Carex lenticularis var. lipocarpa. [Therefore, author citation corrected (back) to Carex lenticularis Michx. var. lipocarpa (Holm) L. A. Standl., from Carex lenticularis Michx. var. lipocarpa (T. Holm) L. A. Standl. previously in this Index, 22 Feb 2012.]
