Correspondence 1

15 Jan 2013 e-mail from Bruce Baldwin, including forward e-mail from Peter Zika, author of Juncus in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1
Correspondence 1 includes citation of a paper by Zika (Rhodora 114(959): 309-329. 2012) in which a new species, Juncus trilocularis Zika, is described for plants occurring from Idaho to California that were previously referred to Juncus brachyphyllus, which as recircumscribed refers only to plants in the eastern US; Juncus trilocularis Zika is said to putatively hybridize, rarely, with Juncus confusus and Juncus occidentalis.
