Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 25 May 2004 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Richard Riefner, Travis Columbus, and Steve Boyd, in a Noteworthy Collections note in Madroño 50:312--313 (2003), report, as a first record for CA, Dinebra retroflexa (Vahl.) Panz. var. retroflexa as an agricultural weed found once beside a citrus grove near Hemet, Riverside Co., with a voucher (Riefner 99-162 15 Mar 1999, determined by J. Travis Columbus) deposited at RSA.
Correspondence 2 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates, in a note under the family, that Dinebra retroflexa (Vahl) Panz. is included in a list of taxa (in genera not otherwise treated in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2]) that have been recorded in California from historical collections or reported in literature that are "extirpated, lacking vouchers, or not considered naturalized". [Although the specific reason for exclusion of this taxon is not provided in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2], a Current Status of Jepson Flora Project-4 is assigned, based on previous correspondence.]
