(pers. comm.). Det. by D. Wilken, verified also by S. Carlquist (SBBG).
Initial Editorial Comments according to Hrusa et al., in California naturalized in wildlands, in SCo (4 Feb 2003)
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] by Stefanie M. Ickert-Bond see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Ephedra distachya L. is to be treated as not occurring in CA, because plants reported as such by Hrusa et al. (Source) belong instead to Ephedra foeminea Forssk., according to determinations by Ickert-Bond, as confirmed by Dr. H. Freitag, specialist in Old World members of Ephedra.
