Correspondence 1 includes a reference to p. 268 in Wild Orchids of the Pacific Northwest and Canadian Rockies (P. M. Brown, 2006), where it is indicated, with discussion, that Listera banksiana Lindley (1840) is the earliest validly published name for a taxon later named Listera caurina by Piper (1898) and Listera retusa by Suksdorf (1900), so that the latter two names are to be treated as synonyms of the first.
