Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Lawrence K. Magrath and Ronald A. Coleman (Flora North America 26:588--9. 2002) recognize two varieties, Listera cordata (L.) R. Br. var. cordata and Listera cordata (L.) R. Br. var. nephrophylla (Rydb.) Hultén (based on Listera nephrophylla Rydb.), indicating only the latter for CA, and noting "Taxonomists have differed about whether these two varieties deserve to be recognized. ... Further study of this species 'complex' is needed." [Therefore, Listera cordata (L.) R. Br. var. cordata, even if recognized, would not be included for CA.]
