Source of Report for California Correspondence 1
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 30 Nov 2004 Interchange Feedback from Dean Wm Taylor see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Gentianopsis detonsa (Rottb.) Ma var. elegans (A. Nelson) N. H. Holmgren is attributed to California by Holmgren (Intermountain Flora Vol. 4 pp. 15-16. 1984); that none of the specimen records in the NY Intermountain Flora database is a California voucher for this taxon; and that, nevertheless, the locality of W. A. Archer 6714 (NY Specimen ID 216085; 20 Aug 1938; NV, Washoe County; Lake Tahoe, creek at Incline, alt. 6200 ft., sandy beach along stream) is sufficiently near the California state line to justify searching for the taxon in CA, especially in n SNH.
Correspondence 2 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] by James S. Pringle see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Gentianopsis detonsa (Rottb.) Ma var. elegans (A. Nelson) N. H. Holmgren is not to be treated, as the taxon has not as yet been found in CA.
