Correspondence 1 indicates that according to Al-Shehbaz: Streptanthus lemmonii S. Watson 1890 is based on a type specimen that probably was collected in CA, not in the Santa Catalina Mountains of AZ as indicated on the type specimen collected by Lemmon, and is a synonym of Streptanthus tortuosus Kellogg; and that when Caulanthus lemmonii S. Watson, a different plant, was transferred to Streptanthus by Jepson, an illegitimate, later homonym was created, properly cited as Streptanthus lemmonii Jepson 1920, non S. Watson 1890, and not as Streptanthus lemmonii (S. Watson) Jepson.
