Editorial Comments 1
|
Correspondence 1 indicates that Rosa multiflora was published by Murray in Systema Vegetabilium. Editio decima quarta 474. [July] 1784, that Murray indicated that the Latin description was from a manuscript of Thunberg's (Thunb. in Authors of Plant Names) Flora Japonica ("Thunb. jap. mspt."), which wasn't published until Aug. 1784, and that a comparison of the descriptions in the two publications confirms that Thunberg is the author of both. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Rosa multiflora Thunb., from Rosa multiflora Thunb. ex Murray previously in this Index, 9 Oct 2007.]
