A molecular systematic study and taxonomic revision of Psilactis (Asteraceae: Astereae). Systematic Botany 18(2): 290-308] and Turner, B. L. [1987. Taxonomic study of Machaeranthera section Machaeranthera and Hesperastrum (Asteraceae). Phytologia 62: 207-266]. Psilactis asteroides indicated no closer to California than e AZ by Morgan.
