Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 30 Jul 2003 e-mail from Kim Kersh see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that: a specimen has been entered into SMASCH as Parnassia cirrata Piper var. cirrata , following an annotation by P. Holmgren (this is the first SMASCH record and the only California specimen of this taxon, which is in the Jepson Manual and California Native Plant Society as Parnassia cirrata); and that Parnassia cirrata Piper var. cirrata was established by publication of Parnassia cirrata var. intermedia (Rydb.) P. K. Holmgren & N. H. Holmgren, Intermount. Fl. 3(A): 61. 1997, which is not known from CA.
Correspondence 2 9 Jun 2004 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that three California specimens in JEPS (Martin Lenz, Sep 2003, sw Siskiyou & nw Shasta cos., at the e edge of KR, 780--1410 m) have been determined by M. Wetherwax to belong to Parnassia cirrata var. intermedia (Rydb.) P.K. Holmgren & N.H. Holmgren (Intermountain Flora 3A:61. 1997), based on Parnassia intermedia Rydb. (1905), even though the taxon was not indicated for California in the protologue.
Correspondence 3 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] by Peter W. Ball see Comment 3
