c Hrusa et al., Madrono 49(2)61-98. 2002: DIST: n NCo, SnFrB: Hrusa et al. Current Status: Naturalized outside of wildlands: DOC: Wilken, D. Initial Editorial Comments family mistakenly omitted from The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1], but treated as addendum to The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1] in The Jepson Globe 1993, 5(1):2; native in NA according to Kartesz & Meacham; "Probably introduced in California as orn.", Impatiens occidentalis Rydb. listed as syn, in treatment of family as addendum to The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1] in The Jepson Globe 1993, 5(1):2; according to Source c, in California naturalized outside of wildlands, yet occurrences evidently qualify for inclusion in the flora according to criteria employed by Jepson Flora Project (11 Feb 2003).
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] by Peter Zika see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that there are no native Impatiens in CA, that Impatiens noli-tangere has a huge circumboreal range but comes no farther south than the WA-BC border, in Whatcom Co., and that even reports of it from OR are all errors for Impatiens capensis or Impatiens capensis X Impatiens ecalcarata.
