Initial Editorial Comments in no way mentioned in Abrams & Ferris, Illustrated Flora of the Pacific States, Munz, Munz Supplement, Munz Southern California Flora, The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1] (despite Kartesz & Meacham citation); Convolvulus simulans listed as synonym of Convolvulus equitans in Kartesz & Meacham
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 17 Jun e-mail from David J. Keil see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that the PLANTS database lists Convolvulus simulans as a synonym of Convolvulus equitans and includes California in the range of the former [actually, of the latter]; that these are distinctly different species that were mistakenly synonymized by Kartesz & Meacham; and that California should be excluded from the range of Convolvulus equitans unless voucher documentation can be provided.
