Murray, " ... until a more reliable set of characters is found to distinguish these two taxa [Carex pyrenaica and Carex micropoda] all of the North American plants shall be treated as C. micropoda." [Actually, both Carex micropoda C. A. Mey. and Carex pyrenaica Wahlenb. are recognized by Murray in Flora North America; his statement under Correspondence 1 in fact only means that until there is evidence to the contrary, he is treating all North American plants as Carex micropoda, and the European plants as Carex pyrenaica.] | |
