Correspondence 1 includes citation of a paper by Zika (Novon 22: 118-124. 2012) in which a new species, Carex orestera Zika, is described from central and southern high Sierra Nevada and White Mountains of CA, for plants previously assigned to Carex albonigra Mack., which under the new circumscription come no closer to California "than the San Francisco Mountains of Coconino County, Arizona, 600 km to the east of the White Mountains."
