Initial Editorial Analysis Nov 1 2001
Source of Report for California The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]

Editorial Recommendation author citation to be checked [resolved]
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 20 Dec 2007 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Atriplex truncata was published by A. Gray in Proceedings of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences 8: 398 (1873), based on Obione truncata [corrected from Obione phyllostegia based on Greenhouse e-mail of 23 Jun 2010] published by S. Watson, in United States Geological Exploration of the Fortieth Parallel. Botany 291 (1871), and that Watson ascribed the name to "Torr." but stated that the descriptions were his own. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Atriplex truncata (Torr. ex S. Watson) A. Gray, from Atriplex truncata (Torr.) A. Gray previously in this Index, 14 Jan 2008.]
