Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 includes a pdf of paper by R. John Little (JBRIT 5:633. 2011), author of Viola for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2], in which the new combination Viola pinetorum Greene var. grisea (Jeps.) R. J. Little is made, "In keeping with the use of varieties for infraspecific taxa in the treatment of Viola for the Flora of North America (Little & McKinney, in prep.) ...", as stated in the abstract, and in the process the autonym Viola pinetorum Greene var. pinetorum was also established. [In keeping with the use of subspecies for infraspecific taxa throughout the treatment of Viola in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1] as well as The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2], Viola pinetorum Greene subsp. pinetorum is hereby retained as the accepted name for this taxon, with Viola pinetorum Greene var. pinetorum as a syn.]
