J. F. Macbr, stating that "Suaeda nigra is the correct name for the species previously known as Suaeda moquinii."; in e-mail of 25 Nov 2002, Ferren stated that nigra is simply the older epithet for a very variable species; that the basionym for Suaeda nigra is Chenopodium nigrum Raf. 1832, which predates Chenopodina moquinii Torr. 1856, the basionym for Suaeda moquinii. | |||||
