Stylomecon heterophylla (Benth.) G. Taylor

Information from the Index of California Plant Names (ICPN)
Initial Editorial Analysis 11 Mar 2009
Source of Report for California The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 13 Dec 2007 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Stylomecon heterophylla was published by " G. Taylor" in Journal of Botany, British and Foreign 68(809): 140 (1930), and that although there is no further identification of the author in the journal volume, the consensus in TROPICOS, International Plant Names Index, PLANTS and Flora North America is that this author is George Taylor (1904--1993, G. Taylor in Authors of Plant Names) rather than George Crosbie Taylor (1901--1962, G.C. Taylor in Authors of Plant Names). [Therefore, author citation changed to Stylomecon heterophylla (Benth.) G. Taylor, from Stylomecon heterophylla (Benth.) G. C. Taylor previously in this Index, 14 Jan 2008.]
Correspondence 2 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] by Gary L. Hannan see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Stylomecon heterophylla (Benth.) G. Taylor is to be treated as a synonym of Papaver heterophyllum (Benth.) Greene.
