Initial Editorial Analysis 19 Feb 2002
Source of Report for California 1968 Rhodora, as cited in Kartesz & Meacham
Initial Editorial Comments in no way mentioned in Munz, Munz Supplement, The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]; indicated for CA, se US in Kartesz & Meacham
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 $ 8 Feb 2002, from Margriet Wetherwax see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that collections from San Diego Co. previously identified as Physalis cordata [evidently recently] have been annotated, evidently by Jon Rebman, Curator SDNHM, as Physalis pubescens [var.] integrifolia. [The literature cited by Kartesz & Meacham is a paper by U. T. Waterfall (Rhodora 70:574-576. 1968), in which one specimen is cited for CA, Gardner 9820, Lakeside, San Diego Co., Sept. 26, 1945. That this specimen is included among those annotated by Rebman is perhaps implied but is not stated in Correspondence 1.]
