Information from the Index of California Plant Names (ICPN)
Initial Editorial Analysis Nov 1 2001
Source of Report for California The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 22 Mar 2005 Interchange Feedback from Greg O'Donohue, Trails Supervisor, Mount Hotham Alpine Resort, Victorian Alps of Australia see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates: that there is a current infestation of Navarretia squarrosa at Dinner Plain in the Victorian Alps of Australia; that in the recent past there was an infestation at Mount Hotham that seems to have been controlled by hand picking; that another infestation at Cobungra is rampant but responding to glyphosate herbicide treatment; that in the rocky, gravelly areas where it proliferates it seems to grow thickly and outcompete other plants; and that it seems to be able to grow in railway ballast that has little or no soil present.
