Editorial Recommendation name evidently or possibly ined. [not in International Plant Names Index on 1 Mar 2006; resolved]; new name or combination possibly needed [resolved]
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 6 Mar 2006 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Mimulus aurantiacus Curtis var. grandiflorus (Lindl.) D. M. Thomps. has been published, Syst. Bot. Monogr. 75:158--161. 2005. [In the protologue, Diplacus glutinosus var. grandiflorus Lindl. is indicated as the basionym.]
Correspondence 2 15 Jun 2011 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates, among other things [to be handled at a later date], that Diplacus glutinosus var. grandiflorus, the basionym cited for Mimulus aurantiacus Curtis var. grandiflorus [see Correspondence 1] was published by Lindl. & Paxton in Paxton's Fl. Gard. 3:95--96, pl. 92 (1852), and that this work had two authors, with no indication that would mean only Lindley was responsible for this new name. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Mimulus aurantiacus Curtis var. grandiflorus (Lindl. & Paxton) D. M. Thomps., from Mimulus aurantiacus Curtis var. grandiflorus (Lindl.) D. M. Thomps. previously in this Index, 23 Jun 2011.]
Correspondence 3 Treatment and author notes submitted since The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] see Comment 3
Editorial Comments 3 Correspondence 3 indicates that since The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Mimulus aurantiacus Curtis var. grandiflorus (Lindl. & Paxton) D. M. Thomps. is to be treated as Diplacus grandiflorus Groenl..
