Current Jepson Flora Project Synonyms Lomatium inyoense Mathias & Constance ex Munz & J.C. Roos
Initial Editorial Analysis Nov 1 2001
Source of Report for California The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 1 Dec 2004 e-mail from Misa Ward see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence appended verbatim is pertinent to The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] account: "Can be common along crest of the Inyo Mtns. May be a form induced by high-altitude conditions; needs study."
Correspondence 2 5 Jun 2008 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that Lomatium foeniculaceum subsp. inyoense was published by William L. Theobald (W.L. Theob in Authors of Plant Names) in Brittonia 18(1):16 (1966), based on Lomatium inyoense published by Munz (= Authors of Plant Names) & John C. Roos (J.C. Roos, not in Authors of Plant Names but following Authors of Plant Names principles) in Aliso 3:120--122 (1955), who ascribed the name Lomatium inyoense but not the Latin description to Mathias & Constance. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Lomatium foeniculaceum (Nutt.) J. M. Coult. & Rose subsp. inyoense (Mathias & Constance ex Munz & J. C. Roos) W. L. Theob., from Lomatium foeniculaceum (Nutt.) J. M. Coult. & Rose subsp. inyoense (Mathias & Constance) Theob. previously in this Index, 9 Jun 2008.]
