Keck in Lloydia 1:87--88 (1938); that Keck attempted to base his combination on Potentilla puberula Greene (Pittonia 1:102. 1887), which was a later homonym of Potentilla puberula Krasan (Oesterreichische Botanische Zeitschrift 17: 304. 1867) and therefore illegitimate; and that Keck also included the synonym Horkelia puberula Rydb. (Bulletin of the Torrey Botanical Club 25: 55. 1898), with the same type as Potentilla puberula Greene, so that Keck's combination was thus based on Horkelia puberula Rydb. and the correct citation is Horkelia cuneata subsp puberula (Rydb.) D.D. Keck. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Horkelia cuneata Lindl. subsp. puberula (Rydb.) D. D. Keck, from Horkelia cuneata Lindl. subsp. puberula (Greene) D. D.
