Correspondence 1 indicates that Hackelia jessicae, synonym of Hackelia micrantha, was based on Lappula jessicae published by Ernest A. McGregor (not MacGregor) in Bulletin of the Torrey Botanical Club 37(5): 262-264, f. 2. (1910), and that although the printed Authors of Plant Names has the spelling MacGregor for this author, the corrected abbreviation E. A. McGregor is given in International Plant Names Index-Gray Card Index [although Ronald Leighton McGregor (1919) was born after Ernest Alexander McGregor (1880), the former is given without initials in Authors of Plant Names (in part due to the error in spelling E. A. McGregor's name), so that the abbreviation for Ernest A. McGregor that is most consistent with the principles in Authors of Plant Names is E. A. McGregor].
