Editorial Comments 1 According to International Plant Names Index-Gray Card Index (accessed on 23 Jul 2015), there are Fritillaria agrestis Greene (Erythea 3: 67. 1895) as well as Fritillaria biflora Sessé & Moc. var. agrestis Greene (Man. Bot. San Francisco 311. 1894). Both names appear to refer to the same taxon, but the situation is unclear at this writing, also with respect to authorship of Fritillaria biflora (Lindl. or Sessé & Moc.?), although Greene clearly indicates F. biflora, Lindl." in the protologue of the var. (Man. Bot. San Francisco 311. 1894), so it the origin of "Sessé & Moc." in IPNI-GCI is unclear as well. [Therefore, Possibly the citation for the species name should be Fritillaria agrestis (Greene) Greene.]
