Editorial Comments 1

Correspondence 1 indicates that the Thomas Craig who published the basionyms for Eriastrum densifolium subsp. mohavense, Eriastrum pluriflorum subsp. sherman-hoytae, and Eriastrum sparsiflorum subsp. harwoodii, in vol. 61 of Bulletin of the Torrey Botanical Club (1934), was Thomas Theodore Craig (T.T. Craig in Authors of Plant Names), whose birth date (1907) is consistent with the publication date. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Eriastrum pluriflorum (A. Heller) H. Mason subsp. sherman-hoytae (T. T. Craig) H. Mason, from Eriastrum pluriflorum (A. Heller) H. Mason subsp. sherman-hoytae (Craig) H. Mason previously in this Index, 21 Jun 2007.]

Editorial Comments 2

Correspondence 2 indicates: that Eriastrum pluriflorum subsp. sherman-hoytiae (T.T. Craig) H. Mason (Madroño 8(3): 75-76. 1945) was based on Gilia sherman-hoytiae T.T. Craig (Bulletin of the Torrey Botanical Club 61: 415. 1934); that Craig named his sp. nov. "in honor of Mrs. Albert Sherman Hoyt"; and that the epithet, according to ICPN Rec. 60C.1(b), must be formed by adding to the end of "Hoyt" the stem augmentation "i" before the feminine inflection "ae". [Therefore, spelling of subspecific epithet corrected to Eriastrum pluriflorum (A. Heller) H. Mason subsp. sherman-hoytiae (T. T. Craig) H. Mason, from Eriastrum pluriflorum (A. Heller) H. Mason subsp. sherman-hoytae (T. T. Craig) H. Mason previously in this Index, 13 Feb 2008.]
