Nees von Esenbeck (Nees in Authors of Plant Names) in Florae Africae Australioris illustrationes monographicae 398 (1841), and that the Stapf citation in Kartesz & Meacham is in error, in that Stapf published Eragrostis curvula var. valida in Flora Capensis 7:600 (1900), but on the same page credited Nees with Eragrostis curvula var. conferta. [Therefore, the correct author citation is Eragrostis curvula (Schrad.) Nees var. conferta Nees, as indicated in this Index.] | |||||
