Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 13 Oct 2011 e-mail from Bruce Baldwin, including forwarded e-mails from Galen Smith, author of Eleocharis for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that, according to Galen Smith, Eleocharis erythropoda Steud. should not be indicated for California (despite the existence of 7 records of California specimens annotated as such by him in CCH according to Baldwin), and that California plants of Eleocharis macrostachya Britton are intermediate between Eleocharis palustris (L.) Roem. & Schult. and Eleocharis erythropoda Steud. [indicated as near to California as AZ in Flora North America] or Eleocharis palustris and Eleocharis uniglumis (Link) Schult. [indicated no nearer to California than NV in Flora North America].
