Focke (Focke in Authors of Plant Names) in Engler & Prantl, Die Natürlichen Pflanzenfamilien 3(3): 33 (1888), based on Fragaria indica Andrews (Botanist's Repository, for new, and rare plants 7: pl. 479. 1807).
