Ph.D. thesis, Duke University, Durham, North Carolina.) indicate that Helianthemum (Tourn.) P. Mill. as [then] circumscribed is polyphyletic and that all New World taxa are better placed in Crocanthemum Spach., and in which the combinations for California taxa in Crocanthemum are made, including Crocanthemum greenei (B.L.
