Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Calyptridium arizonicum (J. T. Howell) M. G. Simpson, M. Silveira, & Guilliams [Madroño 57(3):145-160 (2010)] was based on Calyptridium parryi A. Gray var. arizonicum J. T. Howell [Leaflets of Western Botany 4(8):214-216 (1945)], which is recognized and treated as native to California in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2]; Correspondence 1 also indicates that: the taxon was discovered in California in 2004; is known from fewer than 5 occurrences in the vicinity of the North Pinyon Mtns. in Anza-Borrego Desert SP; is threatened by vehicles; and is potentially threatened by foot traffic and recreational activities.
