Correspondence 1 indicates that Calochortus albus was published by George Bentham (Benth. in Authors of Plant Names) in Botanist. 2: no. 98 (1838), that Bentham ascribed the combination to Douglas, and that the basionym is Cyclobothra alba Benth. (Trans. Hort. Soc. London, ser. 2, 1: 413, plate 14, fig. 3. 1835). [Therefore, author citation expanded and corrected to Calochortus albus (Benth.) Dougl. ex Benth., from Calochortus albus Benth. previously in this Index, 10 Jul 2006.]
