| Editorial Comments 1 | Correspondence 1 indicates that the combination Bromus hordeaceus subsp. molliformis was published by René Maire and Marc Weiller (Maire & Weiller in Authors of Plant Names) in Flore de l'Afrique du Nord 3:255 (1955), and that the basionym is Bromus molliformis, which was published by James Lloyd (J. Lloyd in Authors of Plant Names) in Flore de la Loire-Inferieure 315 (1844) according to all of the references checked and as confirmed by Paul Peterson (The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] co-author). [Therefore, author citation corrected to Bromus hordeaceus L. subsp. molliformis (J. Lloyd) Maire & Weiller, from Bromus hordeaceus L. subsp. molliformis (Godr.) | Editorial Comments 2 | Correspondence 2 indicates that Bromus hordeaceus L. subsp. molliformis (J. Lloyd) Maire & Weiller is invalid. Maire & Weiller based their combination (in 1955) on Bromus molliformis J. Lloyd, which, it turns out, was provisional and therefore not validly published. Bromus molliformis was validated by C. Billot (Billot in Authors of Plant Names) in Fl. Gall. & Germ. Exsicc. (Hagenau) Cent. 14. 1854 [Feb ? 1854], who ascribed the name to Lloyd and provided his own description. Since Maire & Weiller should have cited but did not cite B. molliformis J. Lloyd ex Billot (1854) as the basionym, but instead based their combination in 1955 on an invalid name (Bromus molliformis J. Lloyd), they failed to meet the requirements of Art. 33.3 or 33.6 in ICBN (2000) for valid publication of a new combination. [Therefore, name changed to Bromus hordeaceus L. subsp. molliformis (J.
