Isles Rep. 3(5): 414. 1914) does not include a parenthetical citation of Linnaeus as author of the basionym although there is a reference to the Linnaean name Medeola asparagoides under Remarks, "Medeola asparagoides L., Sp. Pl. 1: 339 (1753)"; according to Gandhi, although Wight (Century Dict. Cyclop. 12: 845, sub Myrsiphyllum. 1909) published Asparagus asparagoides without a reference to the basionym, Asparagus asparagoides has been presumed to be a new combination (see Bull. Bur. Pl. Industr. U.S.D.A. 233: 49. 1912), and Art. 41.4 in the Shenzhen Code applies to this case, so that the correct citation is Asparagus asparagoides (L.) W. Wight. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Asparagus asparagoides (L.) W. Wight, from Asparagus asparagoides (L.) Druce previously in this Index, 6 Aug 2019.] | |||||
