Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 9 Jan 2002 e-mail from Margriet Wetherwax (forwarded e-mail from J. Mark Porter) see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Porter considers Gilia leptomeria [Aliciella leptomeria] and Gilia subacaulis (Aliciella subacaulis) to be separate species, neither of which occurs in CA, and that California material referred to Gilia subacaulis (Aliciella subacaulis) actually is an undescribed species.
Correspondence 2 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] by J. Mark Porter see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Aliciella monoensis J. M. Porter is to be recognized and treated as native to CA, with a note that Gilia subacaulis Rydb. [Aliciella subacaulis (Rydb.) J.M. Porter & L.A. Johnson], the name formerly applied to this taxon in CA, applies instead to a narrow endemic of WY.
