Maiden (Maiden in Authors of Plant Names) in Wattles and Wattle-Barks, ed. 3:39 (1906), wherein he ascribed the combination to "F.v.M." (Ferdinand von Mueller, F. Muell. in Authors of Plant Names) and based it on Acacia dealbata Link (Enumeratio Plantarum Horti Regii Berolinensis Altera 2: 445. 1822).
